  • BMD110 – Word Core

This course introduces students to word processing and Microsoft Word. It teaches students how to work with different types of formatting and create professional-looking documents. Students will learn how to navigate through Word with high functionality and learn how to format and edit their documents.

  • BMD120 – Spreadsheets Core

    This course familiarizes students with spreadsheets and Microsoft Excel, focusing on core and intermediate features. Students will develop skills to create and manipulate professional-looking spreadsheets for various purposes and situations.

  • BMD125 – Spreadsheets Advanced

    This course introduces students to advanced functions and features of spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel. Students will learn how to work with sorting, pictures, graphs and other features of Microsoft Excel. It helps to develop advanced skills in creating and manipulating highly functional spreadsheets. 

  • Outlook Core

    This course introduces students to email and Microsoft Outlook. It helps to develop skills in managing email, calendars, contacts, and tasks. Students will learn how to be highly functional in Outlook and maximize its functions to efficiently contribute to the organization and professional communication.

  • Keyboarding

    This course is designed to help students develop, increase, and refine their keyboarding, proofreading, speed, and accuracy. Students are given access to keyboarding software, and their progress is monitored daily. Students will implement effective techniques and strategies to improve their keyboarding skills.

  • Introduction to Technology

    This course provides students with the skills needed to work effectively with Windows, whether used on a computer at home or in a work environment. The course will cover the many features and apps included with Windows, such as Internet Explorer, music and video, desktop apps, and printing.

  • Introduction to Supply Chain Management

    This course emphasizes the integration of the supply chain management industry and business strategies, highlighting the importance of customer relationship management and engagement. Students will learn to identify improvement plans for optimal end-to-end supply chain management using digitization and performance metrics while strategically building relationships to achieve customer and revenue targets.

  • Supply Chain Logistics & Transportation

    This course covers transport operational management, including cargo movement, planning, vehicle scheduling, and fleet management. Students will learn to select suitable transport fleets, implement multi-modal logistics across industries, and evaluate strategic factors like vehicle utilization, transport costs, customer service, and health, safety, and regulatory requirements compliance.

  • Procurement & Supply Chain Management

    This course identifies and prioritizes procurement needs, supplier sourcing, and relationship development for efficient supply chain functions and value addition. Students will learn about various pricing strategies, factors affecting pricing, and the principles of building competitive global sourcing and support supply chain functions while considering the interrelations between supplier relationships, cost management, and pricing.

  • Supply Chain Operations & Process Management Core

    This course teaches students the importance of assessing performance across the supply chain and various process optimization strategies. They will explore change management initiatives for successful implementation and evaluate facility location decisions’ critical role in logistics activities within operations management.

  • Supply Chain Operations & Process Management Advanced

    This course delves into improvement concepts for enhancing supply chain performance, profitability, and long-term sustainability, focusing on social and environmental impact. Students will also concentrate on sales and operational planning, analyzing processes like demand planning, inventory management, and order inflow and outflow management.

  • International Trade – Theory, Practices, and Procedures 

    In this course, students will explore import/export requirements and international trade rules while evaluating regulatory, legal, and potential risk factors. They will also examine the design of global supply chains, encompassing transport modes, product flow, customs, clearing, and service providers.

  • Global Supply Chain Security & Management

    In this course, students will assess risks and how to control the probability or impact of unfortunate events.  Students will explore risks such as uncertainty in financial markets, threats from project failures, legal liabilities, accidents, natural causes and disasters and theft and how they impact the supply chain. Students will also examine what preventative measures can be taken and put in place to reduce the impact of supply chain risks.

  • Negotiation

    Students will learn about negotiation and the ability to facilitate open communication between parties to find an acceptable solution to a matter of mutual interest. Students will learn about negotiation strategies that will lead to win-win business results. This course will teach productive and meaningful communication to facilitate more apparent business negotiations.

  • Canadian Business Law

    This course teaches students about contract management for compliance, accountability, and transparency throughout the procurement life cycle. They will learn to conduct ongoing risk assessments, manage contract monitoring plans, distinguish different contract forms, and explore remedies for contract breaches and misrepresentation while assessing and protecting intellectual property through effective risk management practices.

  • Project Management Core

    This course gives students the knowledge and practice to manage projects. It allows students to learn essential elements of project management through the scope of time, cost, and resources. Students will evaluate projects’ opportunities and constraints and learn how to refine projects to ensure successful completion.

  • Project Management Advanced

    This course provides the students with in-depth skills and knowledge in managing multiple projects, handling task assignments, and scheduling more efficiently. Students will learn techniques for effective project management and team management. This course will also provide methods and strategies for monitoring supply chain function and performance.

  • Business Language & Communications

    This course introduces students to business English and communication in a business environment. In becoming a supply chain management professional, students will learn to communicate effectively, identify the importance of communication, build positive relationships, and communicate across different cultures in the workplace.

  • Business Writing

    This course empowers students to perform research for reporting purposes. It explains how to compose letters, memos and emails effectively. Finally, it teaches students how to gear their messaging for a specific audience.

  • Human Resources Management 

    This course introduces and provides students and practicing managers with a concise and thorough review of essential HR management concepts–including fundamental practices, methods, topics, and relevant legal findings. It offers opportunities to develop interpersonal skills and contribute to effective functioning in different organizational settings.

  • Information Management-People, Technology & Processes

    This course highlights the significance of innovation and technology in business, exploring their contributions to cross-departmental communication and process efficiency. Students will learn about data analytics for informed decision-making, performance improvement, and strategic implementation of new systems, processes, and change management.

  • Leadership

    This course will teach further leadership and the ability of an individual or a group of individuals to influence and guide followers or other members of an organization. Students will examine the characteristics and positive power dynamics that influence and develop leadership within individuals, groups, and organizations.

Prerequisites

  • ✔ Applicants must have completed grade 12 or equivalent or have mature student status (at least 19 years old). Applicants whose primary language is not English must also achieve a minimum of 60% on the CCC language assessment before enrolling. Program admission requirements may not be waived by the student or the institution.
